Here are past members of the board of directors:

|
Mike Beson
Treasurer (Winter 2007)
Member at Large (Summer 2006 - Winter 2007)
Known for his sportsmanship, intensity and memorable dives on the rocks of Hatcher field, Mike has been tagged as one of the best ultimate players in Newfoundland. He’s captain of Granite (The Newfoundland Provincial Ultimate team), husband to wife Andrea and friend to all ultimate players, young and old. What few people know is that he is also a Pioneer. He was the first to bring serious injury to ultimate in Newfoundland. Game two of the inaugural season of the NLUA, Mike seriously injured his ankle (a fracture in the fibula) but to his credit, made a remarkable comeback in 2005 to become “What Mom would be proud of.” (Mike Beson, 03/01/06)

Paolo Mascarin
Member at Large (Summer 2006 - Winter 2007)
It was during the 1970s that Paolo’s parents were forced to flee their homeland and arrived at Torbay Harbour aboard the good ship Santa Giuseppina. For generations they had produced fashionable footwear for the Italian masses. But Newfoundlanders were only interested in rubber boots, so the Mascrinis turned to slaughtering Newfoundland Ponies whose spleens, as everyone knows, are easily reshapen into high-quality flying discs. The sound of young Paolo chasing down discs thrown to him by friendly slaughterhouse workers soon echoed throughout the “Cuscinetto” - that vibrant neighborhood located between Torbay’s Italian quarter and its flying-disc-manufacturing district. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Kevin Sparling
Member at Large (Winter 2006 - Summer 2006)
One can only wonder is Sparling was as 'follically
challenged' when he sprung smiling from his mother's
womb 24 years ago. However, considering that his self
admitted life's ambition is to have "hair, and lots of
it", one can certainly assume that he was. In only
one year in the league Kevin has used his blazing
speed and exuberance for the game to make his mark in
the Ultimate community, which in turn led to his
election to the board of directors. I man who admits
that he is "desperate for attention" should have no
trouble garnering it now that he is a leading member
of the league social committee and can bask in all the
glory such a position entails.

|
Winston Legge
President (Spring 2004 - Winter 2006)
The young padawan Win Ston-legge learned the secrets of The Spirit from his two masters Ken Gone-for-Gin and Cliffie One-Ken-Owes-Me. Win returned to his homeland, and found other students and followers of The Spirit. His training incomplete, he was vulnerable to the seduction of power, and gave in to the temptation of the dark side. Win Ston-Legge became a Captain and a League Organizer. In the Ultimate Coup, he proclaimed himself Emperor President, declaring a New Order in Newfoundland. But perhaps there is still good in him.

|
|
Brent Smith
Treasurer (Spring 2004 - Winter 2006)
An enthusiast for decades, Brent is the
GrandDaddy of Ultimate in Newfoundland. Brent loves Ultimate so much that it scares his wife, and plays Ultimate so hard that it scares his opponents.
|

|
|
Francisco Acevedo
Member at Large (Summer 2005 - Winter 2006)
Francisco "El Gatito" Acevedo spent years infiltrating the Newfoundland
Ultimate scene gathering valuable information to benefit his hostile
foreign government.
He decided espionage wasn't his game and defected to Newfoundland when
his forearm finally proved superior to his unconvincing Newfie accent.
Francisco is now a double agent, working for the NLUA in the area of
ringer smuggling.

|
Aiden Flynn
Vice President (Spring 2004 - Fall 2005)
Aiden is not quite as seasoned as 'Grand-Daddy' Brent Smith and can be seen regularly playing defense. Someday he too hopes to be able to pick up the disc, but Brent has vowed "not while there's still blood pumping through these veins! Ouch, my back!"
